Missionaries to Cluj-Napoca, Romania

Please take a few moments to see how God has used our family in Cluj-Napoca, Romania in the last decade and a half.

Biserica Baptista Lumina Evangheliei (Gospel Light Baptist Church)

We founded the Gospel Light Independent Baptist Church in April, 2000 with 19 members. In June, 2004 we began construction on our church building and moved into it in January, 2005. The auditorium can comfortably seat 200 people. Two times we have had 275 for a church service. The church is currently averaging about 90 to 100 each week. It is also a self-supporting work with a Romanian pastor, Beni Lariu. We support 5 missionary families and have an annual faith promise mission commitment of 27,500 RON, or about $9,000.

Fidela Bible

In 2002 our church began it's biggest project ever, the translation of the New Testament from the Greek Textus Receptus. At the time there was no modern Romanian Textus Receptus translation. In April, 2010 we finished the Old and New Testaments and printed 10,000 copies. A reprint was immediately necessary and another 15,000 leather covered Bibles were ordered. The main translation work was done by members of our church in Cluj-Napoca; the total investment, up until December, 2011, has been over 55,000 hours of translation work and over $350,000. Fidela 3, 20,000 copies, is now at the printer. Click here to view and download a .pdf of the 3RD EDITION OF THE Fidela Romanian Bible.

Reformer's Unanimous International

Reformatori în Unanimitate România

We are currently translating and developing the Reformer's Unanimous program in Romania. We started an RUI program in our church in January, 2010. So far we have baptized 17 people and have seen an average attendance at the weekly meetings of 22 men and women. We have also been given land in a village near Cluj that we will develop into a treatment home where up to 60 men will be able to come and get help for their addictions. We have raised $102,000 of our goal of $160,000. This money will be used to develop the site and build the home. The RUI home will be completely owned and operated by the Gospel Light Baptist Church of Cluj-Napoca. Statistics say that there are over 60,000 people addicted to drugs and or alcohol in Cluj-Napoca, a city of about 400,000 people. The need is great and God has given us the place to make this ministry a reality. The home will be part of a 25 acre farm which will be operated by the residents. If you can help us with this, please make a donation to: First Baptist Church, 14400 Diamond Path West, Rosemount, Minnesota 55068. 100% of the donated funds will be used for the construction and development of the treatment home. Can you help us reach people who have forgotten how to help themselves?
